Self Ownership!

While browsing through some Prepper sites, reading things on self reliance, I came along this:

I found it very interesting and a little disturbing. We have allowed ourselves to become very reliant on the leaders we choose but we see our leaders again and again... do things that are not in our best interest. We see them set themselves above the laws the rest of us must follow. How do we regain a just society and government?

Our world is becoming more and more populate. Economics have become so polluted in power and politics on a globe that is becoming forever smaller due to improved technologies.
