    Default What do you think? I am stunned....and at a loss for words

    If you had a proof of a copyright infringement, with someone copying your words and article that you already sent to a publisher for a book contract ?Not only your words, links and references but back dated theirs, what would you think ? I have had a firm go over the forensics of it for proof, but am stunned as I thought this was a decent person. Not only mine but I have found a few others now as well.

    Go get 'em! Find a copyright lawyer, put "copyright lawyer in your state" in Google and have a phone consultation.

    So long as you have proof - solid proof - and can back it up, I'd press charges. There was a reason you had your writing copyrighted no?

    This must have been a terrible shock! I'm really sorry.

    This could be very hard to prove but I hope you make the effort. People need to learn lessons in life and not to steal is one of them. If you don't go after them they will just continue doing this to others. Even if you don't "win" they might think twice before doing it again.

    Oh Angel...all that hard work & someone did this to you. I would definitely press charges & I wouldn't stop until every last person who is responsible for this grief has been brought to justice. I am so sorry that this has happened & I hope that everything gets taken care of soon. *hugs*

    I would go after them too. There are various author organizations
    that might help you as well. If it's sf, try sfwa.org, if it's other wriitng,
    try the author's guild.

    I'm sorry to hear this happened, too.

    Unfortunately, if you want to sue someone, that can run into thousands of dollars in legal fees very quickly. There may, in fact, be no real recourse.

    I wish I knew what the answer was. Do look into your options and see if anything can be done, and if it makes financial sense to do anything. At the least, find out where you can make it known you've had problems. One site is Preditors and Editors. Good luck.
