Sad News Yesterday Prayers Needed...
A Eugene Police officer was shot and killed Friday. It was the first police death since 1934. What is even sadder is that I know his family. He and his wife had been married for 8 years they have a five year old daughter together and he was dad to her 11 year old daughter. The family and community are in shock. He was one of the cops everyone loved. He loved working with his community and help with the youth of the area. The woman who shot him--- no one really knows her. He was stopping her for a traffic violation. Talk is, is that she is mentally unstable. Any way please keep the family of Officer Chris Kilcullen in your prayers. And hug your loved ones a little closer this Easter season-you never know when a life will be cut short suddenly. Thanks.

That is really sad. I had a coworker murdered on the 12th. First time a correctional officer has been killed inside our facility since 1951. Everyone is still acting somber/taking it really hard. So I know how your feeling. It's a tough job that law enforcement has to do and they don't get enough praise in my book.

Mahalo for sharing this so we can all be a little wiser about sharing aloha. Sending prayers for his family and his whole community - what a tragic loss.

Iowa also recently lost their first police officer in the line of duty in many years. Sad thing.
The outpouring of support his family will receive from the police community as a whole will be overwhelming. I know our Sheriff's Deputy had thousands of officers in attendance at the funeral...some came from as far away as Arizona, Louisiana. There was even a patrol car and officer from Canada. The brotherhood and camaraderie between police officers is amazing and will surely be a comfort to his family in their hour of need.McD
