what were your favourite presents?
My birthday is coming up and my husband has asked me what I wanted. I'm a bit stumped for ideas!
:
I thought it would be a good occasion to invest in something useful but nice.
What were your favourite useful presents? and what is on your wishlist?

Dh is the worst at gift giving. Not that the thought isn't there.
The best gifts I have bought myself are my Wondermill-wheat grinder and my kitchenade mixer.
I am sure these don't help you out.Married 22 years to Mark

Since I have lost a lot of weight, I took hubby to the Harley dealership, tried on several shirts in size medium and showed them to him. I KNOW he went back and bought at least one of them. Tomorrow is my birthday - WOO HOO!
I find that it is best to give him a detailed list of several things; so he can pick and choose. Sometimes I tell him I have been eyeballing something at a particular store and he gives me a gift card.Mary

Hubby got me a kitchenaid mixer about 20 years ago. Real workhorse and still going strong - love it!
He also got me a kitchen aid food processor. I don't use it as much, but it's still nice to have.
Last year I told hubby I wanted a pressure cooker set. Got a beautiful one plus a few cookbooks to go with it.
Are there any subjects you are interested in exploring? (dehydrating? canning? gardening? crafting? etc.) Perhaps that would guide us in giving gift suggestions?

It took me two years of birthdays and Christmases to get a generator! We live very close to the Texas Gulf Coast and can experience power outages for several weeks after a hurricane.

savvy_sniper I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!!

Your husband is so thoughtful!
MsMarieH, I was wondering between perhaps a proper mixer (I have a handme down stick mixer but it's a bit flimsy I'm worried it will break), a bread machine, a food processor or some fancy supplies to make some lotions. But the kitchen aid mixer sounds a like good bet

Oh, I completely forgot my latest gift was a clothesline! I do have to say dh came through on that one. It was a few weeks late but the weather was bad.
I guess with dh knowing that he is gift challenged I pick a project or something like that.
I'll keep him

One of Birthday gifts that I enjoyed most was one year hubby had my car detailed--one of the complete jobs where they shampoo the carpet and do a deep cleaning. I enjoyed driving a clean car for a while!

I think they will be on my wish list for a long time.
Happy bithday to you.

BF and I were at a party one time and they had a Super Mario Game for the Wii. I had neither the Wii nor the game but really enjoyed it.
A few weeks later at Valentines day he bought me both. I can honestly say that was the most thoughtful present I have ever received.
Last year for my brithday I got new brakes and rotors for my car which was very useful and just recently got some engine work.
Not sure of your price range, but have you thought about a chest freezer? Maybe a new microwave? Personnally with me you can never go wrong with a new high quality pot or pan.
Also, if you coupon, as you know you are only allowed to print out 2 coupons of each type per PC. I recently got a secondary used PC to print out more coupons. It will pay for itself by the end of the month and saving me more money each month after that.total debt: $23977.09 updated 04/02/11

Spice grinder (have a coffee bean grinder but want a dedicated one for just spices)
Fancy Olives, Vinegars, mustards, foods like Marinated Artichoke Hearts ... things I consider splurges, rarely buy but I would love
