I took pictures of the icicles on our eaves on Sunday, May 1.
We were out moving a lilac bush on Sunday, while it was snowing, May 1.
The ice just went out on the lake last week.
The grass is just now getting green.
The walleye fishing opener had to be delayed by two weeks due to ice-out being so late.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We had a horrible windstorm here in Ontario last week. Lots of property damage and a few people were killed.
Although I grew up in the tornado belt in the states, that kind of weather is very uncommon here.
Oh, BTW, ForHisGlory - I love your avatar picture - you are so pretty!

Rain records set in April, and chilly and rainy so far in May. There were frost warnings last night, but since May 15 is the safe frost-free planting date, I guess that isn't so unusual.

We live in Dallas and for the first time in the 24 years I've lived here the furnace is on in May. I looked at the thermostat and it was 48 degrees, in the house! Unbelievable. Hannah

We are in a severe drought. We have been tying or setting record highs for this time of year. We have also been tying or setting record high lows at night.
I finally got my rain barrels put together and we haven't gotten any rain to fill them up. Being on the Texas Gulf Coast, mostly likely when we do get rain it will flood!Mary
I won 2nd place! Made it to the top 4 finalists for the ultimate biker makeover!

Here it has been the driest and warmest April since records began (300 years back i believe) normally it is pretty wet in April /early May but its been that dry and warm that some rivers have completly dried up and a lot more have low water levels and now they are saying the weekend will be 30C twice the average for the month.
but that means storms and i hate them

We had a really mild (for us - Alaska) winter.
And it being this early in May we actually had a "summer" day today! It was sunny and lovely and we all had on summery-light clothes!
(We usually are wearing layers until the end of May here...furnace still on, but minimal level).

I read some interesting theories about the weather. They included:
~ Global warming ( that is the theory I subscribe to)
~ God's punishment on mankind
~ HAARP research - something that NASA is doing in conjunction with the Air Force - it is related to spy satellites and a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo - it's over my head but it was on Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory.
Anyone have any other interesting theories?

My father always call this blackberry winter. Last week of April or first week May when you see the blackberry blooms then you know that will chill that week.

We've returned to winter weather - winds, rain and temps falling into the 60s at night.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
