Polly - I think you will totally enjoy these books. Honestly, I learn something new everytime I pick them up. Some of them, I feel like I have memorized.

There are lots of ideas to be found, but most important is the way Amy teaches people to THINK. It's all about creative uses of things and ways to do things cheaper.

    I'm a HUGE fan of Amy's!

Thanks for sharing. I first saw Amy on Donahue and have been hooked ever since. I didn't take all of her advise literally, but it did motivate me to be creative about saving and reusing things to this day. I wish we could hear more from her now, especially since my kids will be entering their teen years, I'd be curious to hear her frugal tips with teens.

I too first became aware of Amy on The Phil Donahue show. I had only been married a few years and although we have had money troubles through the years I know it would have been so much worse if I had never been introduced to her early on in our marriage. I have to say that back when she was on the PH show the people in the audience were very hostile against her. Especially when she started explaining about buying used clothing. Now it seems so much more exceptable to do so, even before the recession hit.
