Has My Medical Info Been Sold???
Something really weird came in the mail today . It was a pharmacy card that would give me 75% off of my medications no matter where I used it. Imagine the shock as I read the personal note telling me all about it & it could be used for my thyroid medicine. That is private info as to what medicine I am taking...just between my doctor, insurance, pharmacist & myself. This prescription card is not affiliated with my insurance.GGRR, I am so mad

Maybe call your doctor and ask them... I would not feel comfortable with that either!!

Do you ever do medical searches online or fill out questions? I'll be searching something I heard about (a student of mine has __ and I was searching) and I'll end up getting stuff about that in the mail - just from my searches.

I woud also check to see if the card is affiliated with your insurance provider. They occassionally send me mailings regarding different pharmacies in the area that have $4 generics.

Some states are starting programs like this. I got one like that for 30% off. All the major pharmacies take it.

I'd suspect the pharmacy if it was me. All the other places are really tightly regulated about who/what they can give out. Also, ask the parent company for your doctor perhaps? Here, I have to go through a hospital and/or clinic to see a doc...they know my info too, or have access to it.
The obvious way is to ask the people who issued you the card I guess?

I don't know how they would get the info from an online search. I'm told there is a lot more info out there about us than we think but I really don't know. I do know that there is no way the pharmacy could give out my info because they don't have it as I am not on the meds.
