    Default Royal Garden Party

My parents have been invited to a Garden Party at Holyrood Palace near Edinburgh where they will meet the Queen.

    They were flabbergasted!
My dad's typical reaction was, if she (the Queen) thinks I'm driving all that way just for a cup of tea with her, she's got another think coming.
My mom of course would love to go so they probably wil.

Hope you parents have a wonderful time. If I was invited I would go. After all, how many times would you have that type of experience?

How lovely!! do they know how they got invited? Cannot wait to hear all about it - through you - remember -we are your audience for information about an occasion that will never happen in our lives!!

From what I have heard and read you have to be nominated for it.

My parents still run a small (mom and pop) style candy store and have been working in the same place for more than 60 years. (My dad is 84 and still works every day.) They have a customer who has been coming in for years and years and years. He is a lord who lives on his huge estate just outside the town. My mom thinks that he maybe nominated them.

I don't know if my dad will go but my mom desperately wants to, so maybe she will go alone with someone driving her there.

My mom will get someone to take a photo of the invitation who will email it to me (my mom and dad have no idea how email etc all works).
Of course I will post it.

Hope your mom gets to go. Once in a lifetime experience that she'll get to relish the rest of her life.
I love your dad's reaction tho....not sure but what that wouldn't be mine too.

They must very special people. I would love to visit their store. Imagine getting that invite. I would be floored. I hope your dad changes his mind.

The closest I ever got to something like that was tea at the governors mansion.
