Share a frugal deal that makes your day :)
Share your frugal deal that really made your day! something special you made really cheap, a special sale you found, or something you learned. I would love to hear

My deal of the week...... I was looking for clay flower pots. Several in specific sizes for crafty project. I needed a 12", two 10" an 8" two 6", two 4" The best price I found was Home Depot, $8.97 for a 12", $5.48 for 10", etc. I was dismayed to find this was going to cost around $28.
I only happened to look at the Memorial day ad for "Old Time Pottery" (a closeout store much like Garden Ridge). 12" pots $1.99, 8" 0.98, etc.
Made my day and saved me $17.00 They were unfortunately out of some smaller sizes (8" & 6"). But I was pleasantly surprised that what I did find were same quality/thickness as the Home Depot/Lowes variety.
Woo hoo! sale good thru 6/5/2011 if you're looking for clay pots and have an Old Time Pottery close by

Putting away dishes, DD broke the crockpot lid.
Ten minutes later, DH and I, on the way to the hardware store, stopped in our thrift store and found a replacement. It works great.2012 Knitting in progress

My dad gave me some lovely, expensive dishes - Desert Rose pattern by Franciscan.
I was at a yard sale and found an entire box of the same dishes. I wanted an additional serving bowl. There was one in the box. When I asked the price, he said "$2"! I pulled out the bowl and thanked him profusely - he said "That's for the whole box, lady"
It was easily $600 worth of dishes.

So many bargains, so little time...
Last fall I got a $100 pair of Keen shoes, brand new, for fifty cents. And they actually fit my hard to buy for feet!
I picked up a #10 Lodge Dutch oven (two quart) for $2 a few years ago. They retail around $50.
We bought our current pop up camper on eBay, brand new with full warranty, for less than half price. The catch was we had to go to Michigan in December to get it (700 miles) but even at that it was a fantastic deal since that particular model is hard to find and it's fully optioned. We've dragged that thing about 25,000 miles so far and it's been great.
I bought a DeWalt belt sander new for $80, regular price $180, to replace the POC cheap one that worked once and quit. The DeWalt was missing its carry bag. I got home and immediately put it into a perfect-sized carry bag we had gotten free after rebate from Ace Hardware.
One of our favorites is a cast iron floor grate we got for $2 at a garage sale. It's just over two feet square and makes a dandy foot scraper on the landing by our entry door.
Vintage cast iron cookware, fifty cents to four dollars. I picked up a Griswold waffle iron for a dollar and a Griswold round griddle for fifty cents, along with many other pieces. I have never bought a new CI frying pan, although I'll confess to spending way too much on brand new camp ovens since they're HTF used here.
I do a lot of Dutch oven cooking but don't want a large DO table, so I've made them out of various things. One of my favorites is the one made from a folding stainless steel serving tray stand like they use in restaurants. I picked that up at Goodwill for $3. I knew something to use for a top would present itself, and sure enough, a few months later I picked up a large roasting pan at a rummage sale for fifty cents that fits perfectly. Total cost with hardware, well under $10. I picked up a set of two camp stools at another sale for $1 and used the legs to make a very lightweight table that stays in my camper for DO cooking. Total cost was under $10 for that, too. My most recent acquisition is another camp stool for $3, more than I wanted to pay, really. But I have all the other parts this time, so that should be the extent of the costs for this on as I'm upcycling a broiler pan salvaged free from an appliance recycling place, tool clips, bolts and some canvas that used to be the base of a hooked rug that got trashed. The canvas is for making a carry bag for the table. Since I had all the other stuff already, it was worth paying the $3 for the stool.
I bought 300 yards of ripstop nylon for $20 at a rummage sale and have used that for all kinds of things including the Add A Room (AAR) for our pop up. It's come in handy for stuff sacks and all manner of projects. I'll be sad when it's gone, but luckily that won't be for quite a while yet.
Some of the best deals we've ever gotten were our shelter pets. We paid only eighty dollars for each cat, which is a huge bargain over getting a 'free' kitten that hasn't been spayed/neutered or had any shots. The biggest advantage is we didn't have to watch them suffer through their surgeries, since that had all been done before we met them. Our shelter dogs were an even bigger bargain, although we did make a 700-mile round trip to get them (before gas prices went nuts). Their fees were $70 each, but they came with a $35 coupon towards spaying. And they've sure been worth every nickel we spent and every mile we drove to get them, for all the love they've given us. All of our pets are priceless to us now.
Such fun reading about everyone's deals.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few years back I signed my son up for a gaming site and a few months into it they sent out 12 coupons for free razors. Those things retailed for around $10.00 each. He was suppose to keep 1 and give the other 11 to his friends. Yep that is going to happen. I got all 12 and had plenty for ds and dh plus I gave 3 or 4 out in Christmas gifts.
I bought a pair of Born shoes retail price around $75.00 for $3.00 at a yard sale. I love them and wear them a lot.
We are building a new house. I found a pretty chandelier at Habitat for Humanity for $25.00.
My nephew just brought me 2 huge mirrors for a bathroom that a woman was taking out of her house and was going to throw away. They were free.
