Default Family downsizes to custom 320 sq ft home - very interesting!

I can't see the 4 of us in such a small space, but it sure seems to be working for them!

There are some really good ideas here. Impressive use of space but she mentioned having a storage unit and I feel like that's sorta cheating on the idea of living with only 320 square feet.

Wow! That's something else. They really seem to enjoy living in such a small space, and of course not having debt looming over them in the form of a mortgage must contribute to their happiness.

But they are still paying *rent* for the lot space....I guess the house is mobile, though?? I think it would be a great vacation home!

I really admire them, but I think I would feel almost claustrophobic. Twice the space and twice the mortgage would be a lot more palatable to me, and that's still only 700 square feet, tinier than my first apartment. I'd hate to be paying that for lot rent -- I wonder why they don't buy a little lot instead. Perhaps it's a location issue, but then again, they don't drive to work.

Wow, what a cute little house. They seem very happy and content with that. For me, with multiple dogs/parrots/aquariums, and being an avid reader with lots of books, it just wouldn't work. But my new house is a shotgun-style house, which I really love. Thanks for posting the video; it was very interesting to see how others live in alternative housing options.

I gave up the dorm room after college! Wow! DH and I thought a home 4x that size was small. I need my indoor space to move around.

I could handle a tiny house if I lived somewhere with warm, dry weather year round, provided I had a nice outdoor space to supplement it.

If I lived in something that small here, there would be a triple murder by mid-February.

I'd like to try it . It's exactly like a mobile home but less expensive, I wonder why?

I lived in a 450 square foot trailer with my husband and 2 kids and it was tight. We didn't have any other place for storage either. 10'x45'...not going back to that if I can help it.

Cute, and great use of space, but I would be claustrophobic in such a little house, let alone with 2 other people. I wonder where they keep the cat's litter box? (Or maybe that's an indoor-outdoor cat.)

I would guess it is because single wides can be up to 1620 square feet 18 ft X 90 ft after that they are double wides.
