    Default Living without credit cards!

adam-baker-qa-man-vs-debt-creditcards: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

Adam Baker and his wife, Courtney, were thousands of dollars in debt when they decided to get radical about their finances. They sold the bulk of their belongings, cut up their credit cards, slashed their expenses, and hit the road with their daughter, Milligan -- and a baby on the way.
There is a blog about their travels that is listed in the article. It is a short article about how they went from just paying down the cards to completely doing without them.

Interesting idea. Here you couldn't live in an RV year round...too cold. You'd have to go south to the States. You need a CC to rent an apartment in this city too...as my DD found out.

LOVED the article!!! I love the "think different" attitude!! I emailed the link to my BF, I wanted him to see that its not just a "Ramsey kick" that I'm on, its a life-changing-thinking kick that I am on! I have told him repeatedly that I want "Off the Merry-Go-Round" of credit cards. I'm done, I'm sick and done with them controlling my life and future financially.

Neat story, but where do they get their money if they travel all the time? Are their kids school aged? If so, do they homeschool?

I'm sure we could all live without credit cards, but I'm not sure we could live 5 deep in an RV without getting on each other's nerves. Lol

There are a lot of things people can not do with out a credit card .. or its hard to do ... like rent a hotel room ( cash would mean a deposit at the least and some places don't allow that)

Credit cards are a tool, no different than a hammer. The potential for problems comes with how you use those tools.

Doesn't seem too hard to me. Use a debit card.

    Default That's to do it.

That's One Way to do it
After a layoff and not being able to meet my monthly obligations, I thought I had no choice but to use my credit cards thinking it was only temporary. But after few years of trying to fix this problem on my own a family member recommended a website called credit card relief now. I probably wouldn't have gone this route if not for my aunt recommendation but I'm happy I did now. It still took some time to get the ball rolling but now that it is, I'm starting to see my monthly expenses come back from the red

We have not had a techinical CREDIT card for years. When ever a "credit" card is needed, we just use our VISA debit card from our checking account. How would any one know--really. I do not miss credit cards at all. Living in an RV with 5 others---now that would be a little hard for me. Thanks for sharing.

I like my credit card, I don't pay an annual fee and I have never paid a penny in interest. I get cash back rewards on my charges and I apply it to my balance. I actually make money off my card. But I understand it's not for everybody.
