Military Funeral Protests
The Westboro Baptist Church is going to be in our town tomorrow to protest at a funeral for a home town boy killed in action. I feel so sorry for the family which has already suffered so much. I'm just praying for no violence while they are here.
Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.
Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

If I were there I'd be protesting in front of them so the family couldn't see them.

Do you know if you have a group of Patriot Guard Riders in your area?
They help to block and discourage these types of protests. They are a awesome group. There is a schedule of their missions on the above link if you wish to see if they will be attending the funeral.Bridge

I second checking on the Patriot Guard Riders, I am a member of this group. We will block the protesters from the family so they are not disturbed. The family will need to invite them, so if they have not and want to contact them, the State Captain would be the one they contact at Patriot Guard Riders .

You know, if something had happened to my little brother when he was over in Iraq/Afghanistan the 4 times he was there and we had to bury him....and these people showed up at his funeral?
I do believe I would probably end up in jail.
I can't believe that in the name of free speech these people are able to do this. I can't believe that even with some of the things that they believe that they would even WANT to protest at someone's funeral! It's just deplorable to me. Like lowest of the low kind of thing. As if the families of these soldiers aren't going through enough already. Breaks my heart for them and makes me so, so angry for them!
I agree, get in touch with the Patriot Guard Riders.

I don't know how any human being can be so cruel to another person as these people are. I believe in free speech, but I can't believe that anyone would deny a family the right to bury their loved one in peace. These people are as low as a low life can be!

Yep contact the Patriot Guard. They are awesome! They will block the protesters from the view of the family/funeral. They are NOT confrontational.

FHG--The Patriot Guard Riders are very active in our state and his family will be shielded from their nastiness.
Also, about 5 years ago, when a soldier out of my husband's troop was KIA, the then governor passed a law requiring protestors to remain so many feet a way.
I hate these people. I abhor them and what they do. Wouldn't cross the street to spit on them if they were on fire. But I am eternally grateful to live in a country where we can all express our opinions, regardless of how evil it is.McD

You know, are they a "Christian church"? Definately not how you would think they would act, eh...
I hope the family invites the Patriot Guard Riders.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

I cannot fathom how they think they are helping, or what they think they are proving doing this to a grieving family. It makes my skin crawl.
