Well when this first happened to me 17 years ago, the hospital said it was sun Poisoning and the beginning of a heat stroke. I was only 16 at the time and I know I was sicker than a dog. The high fever caused internal blisters inside my mouth and other places. Because of this, to this day I cant take the heat or sun.

I am just going by what the doctors at the hospital told me. I am not looking for a diagnosis, I am just asking for some pointers.
    Thanks

I remember the lime Gatorade being the 'best' flavour with orange being a close second and YES it was awful unless you were dehydrated. I agree, now its marketed like a pop (as are energy drinks) and I see way too many kids drinking it like some adults do with alcohol...only to be social I worry about the harm its doing to their body. I too think water is best for dehydration. As for electrolyte drinks - someone told me to try the children's electrolyte drinks vs Gatorade.

nope, just trying to understand how one could be poisoned from the sun.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Lord who knows how or why lol. From what I have read one site says its the same as heat exhaustion, others say its a really bad sunburn, others say it all completely different so I dont have a clue. Not really sure the doctors know what they are talking about half the time.I think the reason they called it poisoning is because it made me literally sick and b/c of the blisters from the fever where no sun could have possibly burned.

Unfortunately I work in a large metal building for 10 hours. I have several gatorade bottle half full of water in the freezer. I fill the bottles the rest of the way with water. When I start getting hot I take a washrag and wet it with the cold water and put it on my neck. My husband does this also but puts it under his hard hat. Works pretty good.

I'm good for a bought of heat stroke every summer...started in my teens...I get the chills and dizzy...I can drink water till the cows come home..but if my body gets too hot there is nothing I can do about it...besides stay inside w/ the AC. It is an awful thing to deal with...I'm 31.
