    Default Flags at half mast

    FYI..
    I'm not sure if other states do this, but the State of Michigan has an email alert system on when the governor orders the flag to half mast.

    And do NOT be afraid to speak up to complain if flags are not at half mast.

    The flags at our baseball fields were not lowered to half mast as our governor ordered to honor our latest servicemember killed in action in Afghanistan. I asked until I found the person responsible for running the fields and I explained to him why flags were supposed to be lowered and exactly why I found it so upsetting that they weren't. They were lowered within 20 minutes.
