The bills on automatic bill pay I don't go through carefully - I know what they should be, and if the total is what I expect, well and good. If it were not, I certainly would check it.

CCs I pay off monthly, so those I pay through bill pay since they vary. Actually, they are both handled by my own bank, so it's just a matter of transferring the funds, which is great.

The only one I have set up as a recurring payment is my rent, but I do it through the bank's bill pay, and set it up myself.

I don't do auto pay/deduct. I watch the statements like a hawk and pay with paper checks.

BoA added a $3 service fee recently, which I questioned. It was for receiving photocopies of canceled checks on the last pages of the statement. I asked for it to be removed and to discontinue the service. The next statement, it was credited BUT there was a new $3 service fee.
I called and they credited it back, confirming the service was canceled. The next statement, the credit for the newest $3 charge was there. I won.

I will not allow anyone to automatically withdrawal any funds from my bank account. TRUST NO ONE. Automatic charges to my credit card - yes. There is only one and its the same amount, twice a month.

I either pay cash but usually put everything on the credit card. Debit has been the worst for me in terms of having my account 'compromised'. At least on the cc its covered and I still have access and funds left in my bank account. It won't be frozen for investigation purposes etc.

I pay bills online, through my bank. I set up the accounts and then I can just enter in the dollar amounts and click send each time I need to pay. Usually its just my one credit card. Easier on me - only one bill to monitor and pay.

I try to pay it off weekly by matching my receipts to what has been posted. Anything 'odd', I call to investigate. I hate it when smaller stores/shops operate under a totally different name then what their store is called. I have been known to call up the cc company asking who they are and why their on my bill.

Interesting point -since I pay most of my bills online I have gotten a little lax in checking each transaction - shall remedy this immediately.

I pay everything online, with only two things set up for auto-pay. One is a student loan, and paying online allows for an interest rate discount. The other is my home phone and internet, and it has to be auto-pay in order to get the 50% discount.

However, I do go over each bill, making sure things are accurate. It seems foolish not to.

I go over ALL bills. In this day and of computers and stolen identities, you have to watch out. I pay no bills on line. I have no problems in writing checks to pay my bills.

Time Warner Cable always sends me a bill 15 days before they pull from my account. When I was looking at it on line they were charging me 50 dollars more so I called them up and was told I ordered the UFC fights on pay-per-view. No I did not we don't use that service and nobody here watches the fights or the new movies that come out. I had them take it off and they accused me of lying. Said I would have to call my pass word in to get pay- per- view thats fine with me but I'm going into the office and changing my account to a different account and I want them to check for pirating

I only have 4 monthly bills. which come by snail mail. I prefer to pay those bills with a check. I do go over the bill to see if there are any discrepancies.
