    Default New Budget Success

So, I decided to set a goal of having X amount of money in the bank in 3 months.

My current budget has all of my expenses listed and I spend whatever is left over on Groceries, Gas and folding money. My new budget I have let everything the same except limited these to a total of $60.00 a week. I haven't felt deprived at all. I shop wisely and before I decide to go out to eat, I go over what is in the fridge/pantry and will any of this satisfy my craving.

I have been on this budget for 3 weeks and already seeing a good amount of money in the bank. I am just amazed that it is working so well, so fast. I actually ended up with $115 more than I was supposed to have! (Some bills were less than budgeted)

Just wanted to share my joy!

Joseph, you're off to a great start and seems like you'll be able to stick with it w/o feeling deprived. Your story is motivating

That is excellent! It's amazing how fast money can grow when it is nurtured.

That is great josh. I am determined to get more savings so have been very spending wisely. This week when I went grocery shopping I ended up not buying two items and using quarters to purchase the manager's special steaks that were on sale. Manager's specials are basically the only way I buy meat. Felt great walking out of the store with steaks and on budget. Can't even remember what the two items were that I did not purchase!

Default Its amazing what you can get away with not buying

when you don't have the money....I am trying to teach the family that if we can get by without it when we dont have money than we don't need it when we have money....LONG LONG ROAD but we will get there... I need to start putting the money away when they ask for something and i say we can either buy or put the money away for a rainy day...i think that might motivate them...

    Thanks!

That's AWESOME Joseph! I always love to hear your stories (like growing up), or the recipes you share. You have great frugal sense.
