A can of soda should cost $2.90
A 6 oz soda in 1938 cost 5 cents that is 1/5 of the min. wage at that time of 25 cents a hour. A 12 oz can of soda should cost $2.90 cents or twice 1/5 of the current federal min.wage

yeah same here, hamburger is at least that and sometimes more.
Soda is $1.25 a can in the machines unless you go to the food thrift and then it's 25 cents a can! Love that! It's my treat

I'm betting if you buy a blanket of the same quality as then that's about right.
Toothpaste is $3-$5 a tube here, depends on where you shop.
Gas is more then that.~~~

Back then they had the healthy raw milk, or at least that's what my parents and my in-laws had. Last time I checked, about 2 weeks ago it was just under $10 a gallon, so close.
I didn't buy eggs this week because they were over $2.50 a dozen $2.69 to be exact. I'd say it's nearing $3.77 a dozen and if the cost keeps going up they way they have been it won't take long to get there.~~~

The other day I went to the produce stand that sells meat too. I was looking at the ground chuck or grd round it was $3.29 a pound and on the wall was a sign that strip steak was $3.99# is you bought the whole thing and had it sliced. Hamburger/steak what would you buy; I was very surprised at the little bit of difference between the 2?
