    Default vent MIL

I probably put this in the wrong place I am sorry.MIL has a gum infection and is so much pain. She went to the dentist yesterday and he gave her antibotics and a mouthwash. She is crying for pain pills that are not strong enough loratabs 7.5 60 a month last month she ate them in 2 weeks. Her friend gave her 15 5 mgs of loratab which i did not know about. She cried and hubby enabler got her a 1/2 pint of nasty whiskey for her to rinse her mouth out this did not break her over tasted too bad.
Her son is coming from OK to live here he does not know he cannot she won't tell him so hubby is.
This month budget is super tight and I am stressed about that. Budget meeting this week was a no go so Thursday the day before pay day is the meeting. Wish us well.
She wants hubby to take 2 extra days off the week all of our big bills are due which is not possible. To bury her cremated sister.
I want to put her in rehab for the pills she is a drug addict who is in denial God help me.

Wow thats a lot to have to deal with after you just went through something big with your own health. Perhaps its time to just focus on your family til things are ok under your roof before trying to help others? You don't need to and shouldn't have to deal with that right now. *hugs*

Why was she on lortab in the first place? Since she ate the pills in 2 weeks a month ago, but her gum disease was only in the last few weeks, something else must have set off the pain that got her doctor to prescribe lortab.

I would tell her doctor right away. Tell how fast she went through the lortab and that she somehow got some more. The doctor should know what to do to wean her off and maybe some other painkiller that isn't so addictive that could still help her out. Unless this is a sign of something much deeper than just lortab addiction.

Prayers for you and your family right now. Good luck!

she has been on lortab for years when she was in OK she got 90 10mg tablets a month plus other assorted meds. She is on 60 a month 7.5mg she has a total metal shoulder that is not attached right the shoulder surgery was a screw up that has caused her a lot of pain. Pins in her knee and in her hip. She was a life long alcoholic who quit but subsituted pain meds, liberuim, and zanax she is off her liberum and zanax. A reduced amount of pain meds the doctors told her there was not enough meds to take all her pain away. I have my hands full.

Ooh that changes everything - vent away here if needed. But I do agree, try to talk with her doctor to see what can be done for her w/o drugs and what can be done for you, you need more support right now.

Vent, vent, and vent away. Also look into some type of service that can come and sit with your mil. This way you will have time to take care of yourself or just get out of the house for a little bit.
