    It's The Little Things......

that grab my attention. Summer is usually bad financially for us..the insurance bills, the high electric bills...now with my cancer treatment & things breaking down & just stupid stuff happening ....well, you get the picture.
When things are extremely tight, I have noticed little things being placed in my path that make it possible to stretch our funds. Like yesterday when I was at the produce market, they were throwing away various fruits & vegetables....some of it looked too good to toss-what a waste. So, I swallowed my pride & asked if I could have it.....they gave me EVERYTHING they were going to get rid of. I spent the afternoon going through it all...I kept the best stuff & washed it all thoroughly...some of the stuff was being tossed just b/c they were small in size.(the not-so-good stuff, I did have to toss - wish I dh had my compost built). So now I am dehydrating veggies to store in my pantry
This morning, I called to schedule an appointment w/ the vet for my dogs shots (which we have a small fund set up for)...imagine my surprise when I was told that our city said that their distemper shots were now every-other-year & the rabies are now every 3 yrs...I didn't have to bring the dogs in at all this year. So now, I can save the small fund for purchasing their year supply of heartworm meds

The little things mean so much and are very often over looked. Glad you're noticing the little things happening around you

That is so true! God IS faithful, and it's the little things that mean so much to me too! I got my gas bill recently and it was over a hundred dollars, and I knew that was wrong. Never having a problem before, I called the gas company and they had me read the meter to them over the phone. I just went online to check and they reduced the bill to $39.29.

    Hugs to you!

Lol...maybe I should have waited to start this thread...I have another "little thing" to share....I went to the bread store & was able to purchase a cartful of bread for $6. There were 42 loaves of mostly wheat bread I was fortunate to be able to score a cart...the last couple of months, the store ran out of them before I got there.
    The day isn't over with yet....I'm excited.lol

You know what? My sister is going through cancer treatment too and unfortunately she has to go out of state for the treatment. Her funds for flights is dwindling and she was worried about how to get to Texas.

Well today she was going down for treatment and she got bumped from her flight from San Fran. To her suprise and relief they gave her a $400.00 flight voucher. Yay!! As she said--"God must have bumped me for a reason!". God is good.

If your vet will give you a prescription for the heartworm. Drs. Foster and Smith are sometimes cheaper than buying from the vet.

Are you in Corpus? Or are you referring to pet medications on line? I had tried to get them online, but none of the vets around here will give me a script...they say its b/c they have had bad experiences....I don't believe them

well...the sun is going down here & there have been 3 more blessings1. My dd wants to move back in w/us for a few months until she can find a safer apartment to move into...that will really help everyone out until Sept. (everyone shares the grocery & electric bills)...she can build up her savings & get back on her feet again. 2. Dd will finally be managing an entire store by herself & there is a raise involved. 3. A friend of mine that I haven't seen in nearly a year dropped by and gave me a BIG bag of yarn...and to offer me alot of encouragement. Wow! what an awesome day

I live in MI. I am talking about online. I do not know about other companies, but I ordered from this company many, many times. The boxes were sealed, undamaged and plenty of time before they expired. My vet started giving out rebates with the heartworm to make it just as cheap through him than online.
If they give you the script they don't make the money. I was going to move to a vet closer to home because I had to take to large dogs for heartworm testing. The new vet would not give me a script so I never changed. Sad thing is they (the vets) should care about us saving money to give our pets the best possible care. I wonder if an animal shelter or humane society would give you one. Just a suggestion.
