Default Closed The Last Chase Bank Acct Today!

    WOO HOO!

They increased fees and I could not meet the criteria for free checking on 2 of 3 accounts. So I closed one about 4 months ago and opened an account at a credit union. It took me a while to get everything changed around that was linked to my Chase business account, but I finally got it all done and closed the account today. They still got $60 in monthly fees before I got it all done. They would have charged me another $15 tomorrow if I hadn't closed the account.

I have a trust account (I am the trustee) with Chase still that meets the criteria for free checking. As soon as the monthly trust checks stop coming (in about a year), I will close that account also.

    Good riddance Chase Bank!

I loathe Chase like most people detest BoA or Wells Fargo or any of the megabanks, where you're no longer anything but a cold account number. I ended my relationship with them last year, closed every single account I had with them (and I never willingly went into business with them in the first place; they bought my mortgage and CC from other banks). EVERY time I would call, I would get an automated system that I'd have to sit through for what seemed like hours to speak with a human being, and then I couldn't ever understand that human being because of the accent. The final straw was when I was interested in refinancing my home loan to a better interest rate and they said, "Let me connect you with our refinance 'department.'" That "department" ended up being a "oversees partner," that then had my personal information. I was so angry, I paid off my house and vowed NEVER to do business with them again. As Dave Ramsey would say, "A healthy dose of disgust will get you out of debt!"

I congratulate you on your divorce from Chase. That has to feel so liberating!

    Congrats on your divorce...

I did that about three years ago......still having a boat load of checks.......and one of the best moves I ever made.

(the checks make nice grocery list pads!)
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
