Weird but very sweet. My son's friends have become my friends since he died. These are all young men and women he went to the academy with. Well to of them(twins) have invited me to FL to visit on their dime. So we are looking at Aug 6 th. I've never been to FL.

Fernykins...how wonderful! Your son would be so happy to see his friends still keeping in touch with you and sharing their lives. You are blessed. I am sure you will have a wonderful time.

I find that not weird at all. I am in the position of the young friends. First I made friends with the kids my age. Now, I am just as good friends with the parents. Their daughter who I roomed with, ended up marrying a cousin of mine and later died in a car crash. I love having friends in other generations than mine. They have experience that I don't have yet.

    Enjoy!

I think that's terrific. You must be a very special person for them to have wanted to become your friends and for one of them to pay to have you come visit them. I say go and enjoy yourself!

    Very well said Michelle

I'd have to agree...you must've made some sort of impact on them/their lives for them to be so loving and consider you family. I hope your trip goes well and you have a blast!

Not weird at all... I have a huge age range of friends. I think it is fabulous that they are including you in their lives.

No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer. Your life, because of who you are, has meaning.
