Default Weird question-Do they have fireworks shows in Alaska?

Do they do it at 2am? My kids just asked me and I have no idea. I can hardly stay awake until 10pm to watch them here.

    Default Funny you should ask!

My daughter and her family moved to Alaska a few years ago, it's a new experience for them & I'm still learning...I'm in Michigan. I asked the other day if they were going to fireworks & she said no, it's too light up there now. Her 8 year old son sometimes gets up in the middle of the night & thinks it's morning time...she said they do fireworks at New Years Eve and also Thanksgiving.

Um...actually, we *do* have fireworks shows in the summers... The fireworks shows at the State Fair (end of August) are very popular.

We also have fireworks for the 4th of July (here's a link to our city's festivities this year): July Fourth festivities in Anchorage, Mat-Su: Anchorage | Alaska news at adn.com

Growing up, we ALWAYS went out of city limits, bought fireworks, and set them off for the 4th! GREAT memories!!

And the earlier poster was right...we definitely have loads of fireworks come New Years, as well!

Yes, they show differently in the lighter times...but, they're still loads of fun!
