I'm not sure how old your children are, but perhaps they are old enough (and mature enough) for a form of personal protection. Perhaps a small can of pepper spray?

Thanks for all the info. We are still evaluating what will work best for our location. At the moment we are using the old kiddie cam. I have become very thankful for the neighbors barking dogs. If they are out, they let me know.

I was thinking Deer cam too.

I have a good aim, and a big angry dog. But if I wanted to get video evidence, I'd go with game cams, they're meant to be in all weather conditions, and most can save to your computer or on SD cards or the linke. Good luck.

I'm afraid that a dog in our house is not an option. We did find out that the law is doing a better job of keeping up with this then they have in the past. Maybe we will get somewhere this time (and hopefully get a couple perps locked up).

To bad you cant get a huge light that would shine at night whenever you have someone walking by. Then you could have a recording loudly play, your are being recorded, please step away from the house.

Not to make light of the situation, but my cat seems to be great at deterring people from coming up stairs.

I know someone who had some type of device that made it sound as if you had a huge dog in the house. Really hope you can get some type of outside surveillance system installed soon. How young are your children? Anyway you can tell them to shout things like Why are you dressed up like that ______ (persons name).

They range from 7-11. The middle one was the one injured but they were taking pics/video of the oldest. (They all look alike so maybe they thought it was the middle one? or because he is autistic and was acting autistic??).

I haven't thought of the shouting. We will work on that.

The big problem is that they are not sneaking around at night. They are coming in full daylight!! 8:00 am 9:00 am, 1:00 pm.

Thankfully it is documented with the police, we have a report in hand and we are having heavily increased drive bys because of the history of the situation.

Definately feel for you. Know what it is like to have idiot neighbors.

Hopefully you can get your kids to yell when they see something strange. Definately loud enough so the neighbors also hear it.

A couple of fog horns would probably help also. Seeing as they could be sounded off close to the intruder. After all kids will be kids.

This is very true...Rottweilers are too, but they tend to have a bit more aggressive nature ...((Or that's I experience anyway)). My Husky/Chow mix isn't too shabby either.

2ndGenGranola--I'm truly hoping for the best in this situation...thinking about you guys.

    Sending good thoughts your way.

Is there anyway you could sit across the street and take pics from a neighbor's house? I'd definately carry something like a fog horn or pepper spray with me at all times.

At this moment (and many others) we have a policeman behind one of the neighbor's bushes (neighbor is in law enforcement too so that's a big plus).

I've been wanting extra motion lights outside so maybe this is a sign that it's time?
