You know, I had received a small bunkbed frame off of Freecycle, and then found it wouldn't work. They have just been taking up space in the garage for a couple of years now. I'm going to see if I can do something with that-then I will have decluttered and repurposed at the same time!

That is a really cute idea.
If I ever get a messy bed cleaned out that is going to be
a sitting area.........maybe have to try it. Lots of work before
I am ready for that step.

I have to wonder how well it would hold together. A lot of wood bed frames are glued together at the joints, and not all could have screws added to strengthen the joints.
Interesting idea though.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I would add support with L brackets no matter how the bed was originally built. When I painted it, and if they were placed smartly, they would not really stand out at all. :-)
Right is right even if no one else is doing it. Wrong is wrong even if everyone else is doing it.

Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Our local Salvation Army has a section of mismatched head boards and foot boards. This would be a perfect use for those. Some as cheap as $5 a piece!

That is neat.
If you check the HGTV message boards under Trash to Treasure you'll find some more benches made of headboards. There are some ladies there that have made them and posted pictures.
