I'd be willing to trade. It was in the 60s here today with clouds and rain all day long. I'd kill for some heat.

We are on our 11th day of over 100-degree days. I absolutely hate it (Eskimo at heart). I would GLADLY trade these ridiculously hot days for cold, rain, snow, ANYTHING cooler than this. The sad fact is that it will be well into October before we get any real relief from the hot.

A little relief today but they are talking about another wave coming...there goes my electric bill...up up and away..don't know if anyone else is having more trouble with their allergies but my eyes are driving me nuts they itch soo bad.. I even called the DR yesterday to see if there was a stronger eye drop I could use. They called back and said to use Visine ..well I am already using that and it is just not strong enough so she said she talk to the Dr again and see if he would prescribe me something without me having to come in...he knows how my allergies are and how much you can suffer with them because he has them too...oh well...will wait and see...

Whoa, a heat index of 113!!

I'm gonna quit complaining about our low 90's. The only reason that's been bothering me, is I've been doing garden work.

It has been hot, hot, hot for what seems like forever already. We are in a drought and my water bill just to keep things alive (not lush, just alive) is double what it normally is. We will probably be under an EXTREME heat advisory in the next day or so.

The humidity is pretty high today. I just got back from driving to FedEx, Ace Hardware, and the grocery store. I have no A/C in my truck. I am LITERALLY dripping wet. It is only 85 degrees at this time (not 10 am yet), but with the heat index it feels like 95+ and by the heat of the day it will feel like in the 100's.

We are under a heat advisory today with predicted highs of 99 and heat index 110-115. This morning at 8:00 it was already 80. Plus it is very humid here----we NEVER have "dry heat," it's always the kind that makes you break out in a sweat the minute you leave an air-conditioned building or vehicle.

In other words, it's pretty miserable.

And we will have hot days well into October, and we usually have some warm days in November and December.

I really should move someplace cooler......

    Smile There's a reason I live here . . .

and it isn't the heat. Not usually a complainer, but I'm now officially whining! Over three weeks of 90+ temps, miniscule preciptiation.

Oh yeah, it's also summer camp - I love torturing the kids with hikes, but this humidity is bugging me, not to mention them. At least yesterday we 'found' both a river and pond for them to cool off in.

Here's hoping for breezes and a little rain!!

Managed to get in a walk this morning right after I woke up. Luckily there was a little breeze and not as humid as yesterday. Was able to get a couple plants in pots. Not as bad in the shade.

Have been living in a cave since it has been so hot. Does really seem to keep the heat out and the ac inside. So far have been able to turn the ac off at night and only have the fan on in the bedroom. Yesterday was horrible heat wise here. August is when it really heats up around here.

That's what I was thinking until I read about the heat index.........and the humidity would do me in!!

We haven't hit 90 YET THIS YEAR!!! And raining here today..but this rain is needed............not like our spring........when I was busy building an ark!!

Our dew point was ONLY 40 yesterday (due to the rain coming in) and I thought I would die while gardening. I guess I can say thank god for our dry heat.............if we ever get it.

I feel bad for all the folks over there. We get HOT here, but usually blessedly dry. Today's high was 70 which is really unusual here in the southern part of the NorthWest. The third week of July here is traditionally the hottest of the year. I predict it will be and when that happens I predict you all in the east will get a break. It always seems to be opposites. Hang in there. It's nice that folks are talking about checking on seniors and neighbors.
