Default teachers: all ready for school?

i don't need much this year.

i only needed to buy a pair of brown linen slacks and a black linen blazer. Edit: and a pair of fresh birkenstock brown boston.

i pressed, inspected and mended all other linen clothes. i wear linen until november when it cools down. need to rit dye linen slacks - faded black. i am having a hard time finding rit dye lately.

i have winter clothes out the wazoo. dressy jeans, birkenstock bostons and londons, socks. i might need fresh cotton t-shirt shells, to wear under blazers.

    school supplies
case of masking tape. i will buy this
120 composition books, walmart for 25 cents each. i have the kids fork over 25 cents for the notebook.
10 corell bowls with lids for bringing lunch and freezing portions.

ask kids to bring #2 pencils. 2 boxes each.

most of the hunneydos are done and i am BORED. i've never been this bored over a summer like i am now.

i am thinking of doing a road trip to baton rouge and seeing the plantations that you can tour. just two days.

Just curious what are you going to do with a case of masking tape?

i make the kids keep an organized notebook and we discovered that blue painters masking tape is superb for gluing assignments into the composition book. if the kid puts on the wrong page it lifts right out, without making a ghastly mess.

That trip sounds lovely and perfect!! And I want to hear all about it too!!

Love your organization. I still need to go over my wardrobe for August and September. I want to make a few more long skirts - have the fabric, just need to sew them. Bought 2 pairs of my favorite style Skechers - was so glad to see that they were still making that style.

Will finish setting up my room next week - students start August 1!!

I need 2 new pairs of shoes
School supplies are all purchased (I make them available for the kids to buy at cost)
Not buying any more clothes, refusing to buy them in my current size. I have a few items to wear, and more in the next size down.

I'm not a teacher but have the summers off as well. My daughter visited this past week so I asked her to help me go through my clothes for this upcoming school year.

We packed away a few items that I wore multiple times every week to help me branch out and wear some of the newer items I had acquired. Thanks to Freecycle I have accumulated somewhat of a collection of clothes! But a lot of the time I tend to fall back on my favorites so hopefully this helps.

I am also going to change my braces rubber-bands to our school colors. (maroon and gold, I already have gold wires)

I have booked myself with different doctor-dentist appointments all week next week to get those out of the way so I don't have to take off during the school year, hopefully.

About a week or so before school starts I'll be setting my alarm back to work-time and getting back on schedule. Do you flip-flop your days and nights during the summer like I do? ugh, such an adjustment!

I've already gone into my office a few times to clean up, organize, etc. because once school starts, look out!

DH is the teacher (I do private lessons though) - we're mostly ready, he is reusing most stuff from last year. Luckily he's okay on clothes - he lost 40 lbs last year and I was worried he'd need a whole new wardrobe but we found tons of his old clothes from college in his parents' basement so he's got plenty - as long as he doesn't lose any more weight. I'm the opposite - I don't have many clothes but refuse to buy them because I'm trying to lose weight (still!!) from abdominal surgery in 2010 and I have so many clothes that don't fit .... I have to get the office supplies stockpile going again. There's very little in it now but luckily it's not really "must have this by the day school starts", more of stuff we use all year long.

For my private lessons I want a chalkboard and chalk, erasers; and a printer/copier. However, it's not an emergency. I'm not sure yet if I'll have students coming to my home or if I'll be going to theirs, as we're relocating. Just have to wait and see how it goes. I also need to buy some textbooks but as those are very expensive I'm going to take some time and shop around. That will probably be the biggest expense.

Happy summer vacation to the teachers out there!

No, not ready. I need some new slacks, or yoga pants. I'm good for shoe having spent 200 dollars on good shoes to relieve pain. Supplies, I'll wait till they have the penny sales and then I'll go buy as much as I can.

i like colonial federal regency time period, so would like to see the older (not victorian) homes.

i priced this out and it actually would be cheaper to fly back to colonial willamsburg so i am discouraged.

Afterschool won't start until after the 6th of September - good thing, 'cause I'm NOT ready to go back. I've got today and next week working at Summer Camp (tough job, watching kids swim under the instruction of lifeguards in the mornings). I do run a geocaching workshop next week afternoons.

I really need August to unwind, rest and relax. Oh yes, and stock up on pencils, erasers and tape, and maybe some new books and games.
Vermont has two seasons: Wintah and the Fourth of July.
