Don't forget all the new fees that suddenly start showing up when certain politicians insist they won't raise taxes. They still manage to get their hands in our pockets and think we're too stupid to realize what's happening.

The gas station thing was pretty cute. It always gives
me a jolt when I am in Oregon and the attendant comes
out to fill my car............really throws me.

I can REMEMBER getting some of the freebie things 'in stuff'............laundry soap was a biggie.........got dishes
and all sorts of fun stuff!!

Interesting article...it's true, so many things cost now... Kinda wonder where they're going to draw the line. Then I realize...they won't.

Compressed air at the gas station surprised me before I bought my own air compressor. I went to air up my motorcycle tires, and found I needed .75 to do so.

And in "small town America" the businesses gave you something free at Xmas........usually some sort of kitchen utensil. Or a free calendar, at the very least!!

    WHAT???? A full size calendar??

I am lucky to get a credit card sized one from the bank.

I missed the dollar store calendars, and 50% off card shop calendars last year and ended up at
Barnes and Noble...............guess you know the price I paid there!!! (and I like to have no less than 3 of them! Only using two this year!)

Ace Hardware and our local GM dealer and our Wells Fargo bank still give out full sized calendars, and State Farm gives out the little ones with the sticky backs that I use on my computer all year. Our gas company gives out calendars, too.

Calendars are still given away around here at Ace, banks, and drug stores.

There are also still gas stations that will pump your gas for you.
