Becoming a Hermit
I've never been a social person, could take it or leave it..
With that said, I have noticed, I am even more anti-social with the feeling of not wanting to see anyone or really caring to go anywhere..
I am content just housekeeping, doing crafts, being on Facebook and on FV.
I'm not complaining or bothered by this, but was wondering, is there anyone else out there that feels the same way??Mom of 4

I've ALWAYS been a bit of a hermit (though I've never used that word). As a child, I always went to my room, closed the door, and read or did whatever by myself, and did not like to come out. When the internet was invented (LOL) I loved it because it was a neverending source of reading material and you could be interactive to the degree you wanted. I think I was at my most "hermity" in the summer of 2004, when I was on break from school and had my groceries delivered to my house and probably went 3 to 4 weeks without stepping outside my own porch except to take out the trash. Thankfully (because that was bad, I was depressed) I am much better but I still sometimes find myself surprised to find that a whole day or weekend has passed and I have not set foot outside my apartment. I wish I were more outgoing but I'm just not.

I feel that way too. I am quite content to stay home and not socialize. DH likes to go places and do things with others more than I do but he would like to stay home more. We go to church twice a week and that's enough socializing for me!

~I'm in the opposite place right now. I'm not a social person either and usually prefer being home. But now that the kids are getting older and more interested in seeing and doing things, I've been excited to go and do things with them. We don't do a lot but I find that I really look forward to the next experience with them. Mini golf and a drive-in restaurant are next.
Maybe it just has something to do with having young children at home?~

~Have you all taken the Briggs-Meyer personality test? It's long but the results were really interesting to me. Personality test based on Jung and Briggs Myers typology ~

I have definitely been a bit anti-social the past few months. I get my fill of people at work, and at home I have just been enjoying my quiet time.
I am an INTJ on the Meyers-Briggs personality profile and have gotten quite comfortable with the idea that I am an introvert and simply feel better when I get plenty of alone time.

We're both part of the same 1-4% of the population, I just took the test in the link above and came up with the same. Doing a little reading and research into it, it fits me to a T.
All of my close friends have moved away from town over the past year, and I'm struggling to make more close friends, but my natural introversion seems to be getting in the way. I wouldn't classify myself as "anti-social" or a hermit per se, but I do get uncomfortable in social settings if there aren't people around that I know well, beyond the "hello, how are you?" when passing on the street or at the grocery store. I'm much more comfortable sitting on the deck listening to the birds or walking with the dogs in the forest.
I do like writing, though, and express myself that way much easier than face-to-face, hence my story-telling on here and other forums. I also write for a couple of local newsletters. That kind of hides my introversion a bit, I think.

Same here, Low-1. I guess that's why I'm a writer. It's a solitary profession. I've always been good at entertaining myself and don't need other people to do it for me, although I do enjoy talking to friends. I don't like too much togetherness though.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hermit here also!...Although I do enjoy camping and talking to other campers. ...Part of the reason I am like this is because I have been hurt by people so many times.I have trust issues.

Isn't it interesting that so many of us relate with the introverted thing?
I took the myers briggs test, and I am an INFJ. Read the description and that was weird how well it described me, down to the career I have chosen.
