    My two DS's got together and ordered me a Kindle for my b'day in August. It should be here TODAY. Yay me, I can't wait for the mail to come!!! I've wanted one for awhile and was super surprised. SNAP

    I love love love mine! Most books I buys are free, .99, 1.99 and 2.99.

    Such a great deal for a avid reader like me.

    I recommend Take the monkeys and run a Barbara Marr mystery by Karen Cantwell and Melanie Jackson's Chloe Boston series.

    Got my Kindle yesterday.. love it! For my first book I got Water for Elephants. Next I'll go a bit less $. Cricketlegs, thanks for the heads-up on where to start.

    A great site to check for free books eReaderIQ.com | The Easier, Faster, Smarter Way to Kindle! You can also list books you would like but are waiting for the price to drop - as they may do erratically. It emails you when there is a price drop. They also have a pretty good search function where you can set a price range for books you are looking and and include or exclude public domain titles.

    One thing with Kindle books - if you see a free title and think you might like it, get it then. Prices are erratic at best - it may be free for 6 months, or six days, or six hours.
