OMG -

so I post on Craigslist under the free section - This is how the post read:

Little Red Rooster looking for a new home. He is blind in one eye, and enjoys getting out of his pen to sleep in the trees - finds his way back into the pen in the morning

Having a hard time keeping him seperated from the other rooster, so he needs to be the only man around the hen house.

No, it's not even my rooster - he lives with my in-laws and the TRUTH is he won't stay in his pen, and they wanted to give him to someone who didn't have a rooster -

My post was 'flagged' and removed.

Really???

So------------ I reposted, but with lots of colorful words....

Does it tell you why it was flagged? Ours doesn't allow pets under the free section. Those have to go under Pets and sometimes will get flagged if you offer free instead of requesting a small rehoming fee.

Yet I see plenty of posts for CATS, DOGS, COWS, GOATS, CHICKENS, HAMSTERS, GUINEA PIGS, ETC... ((which by the way, you probably should have thought of that before you didn't get your cat/dog spayed, and they had litter after litter that you want to pawn off on CL - but that's a different topic entirely))

and you f*** want to give me a hard time over one little rooster??

The little rooster just needs a home with no other roosters - he's cute, he's small, he's blind in one eye, so he needs a bit of TLC and someone to pay attention to him, he likes to sleep in the trees -

Nope, just this morning there is an ad from someone trying to rehome goats/chickens/cattle.

Also, there have been many hamsters/guinea pigs/cats/dogs

I think the pets on mine have to be listed under pets too.....can't be in free...BUT it can say free when listed
under pets and often does.....will have to watch and see. I always read the free.....and the pets---just to look at the pics. We have soooo
many bunnies on ours now it is fun to see all the kinds.

I was wrong..... it does say not to put pets on the free section - but not 5 minutes after my rooster was deleted, 2 different cats were put on, and not deleted.

and when I look back through the previous days, there are many pets -

so I really have to wonder if it had something to do with the rooster???

I'm just uber annoyed with people who have nothing better to do than be the CL police - don't they have anything better to do than harass people for posting in the wrong spot??

A friend and I have decided that CL is much worse for just
'general crap' in the summer and we have decided to attribute, part of it at least, to kids that are bored.........with nothing better to do.

I have even had some pretty bizarre questions asked in the emails.
Figure it was kids..........

BUT.........there are some pretty fanatical 'pet police' on there.

Sorry, but I can see how reading your original post someone may have thought it was a cleverly worded sex ad. A 'one eyed rooster' = cock (penis)... enjoys going out at night but always comes home.... wants to be the only man in the house....

After I read it the second time that's what I thought. Originally, I imagined a rooster who, as described, was blind, nested in the trees and didn't get along well with other males. Silly, CL! Get your mind out of the gutter!

I read it and didn't see anything wrong with it, but then I put on my devil's advocate hat (horns?) and the ad took on an entirely new meaning. I thought it was pretty funny, but then I'm warped.

I have to agree with CH. There are so many potential double entrendres in the post I could hardly count them all. I'm sure you didn't mean it to be that way, but it's not hard to see why it was flagged.

I read the ad to my husband and asked what he thought it was about, and I quote, "I don't think it's about any chicken."
