Can someone please answer my stupid question?

I would love to drop my land line. But how do you have net service still with DSL? I thought it had to be "cable". Which is priced higher. I have AT&T if that matters for both the home phone, net, and cell phones. Who do I need to call?

    TIA

DSL is a different line. So with ATT, you should be able to cancel home line & keep dsl.

I canceled home phone, kept DSL.

I kept one corded phone in the kitchen to call 911 in an emergency.

I can honestly say I have never had our Verizon phone go down. However being rural with Centurytel that has gone down a lot!

You can keep DSL while dropping the home phone. While using the same lines, they are essentially separate. Call AT&T customer service. Due to bundling, it may be cheaper to keep the home phone, but that's something only AT&T would know.

What did you dig up that said this is normal? Just curious...apparently you researched it.

Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

I haven't had a house phone for a few years now. I don't miss it. I have Comcast modem only, no tv.
