    Default I have vertigo.

I spent Friday in the er. Can't even walk or raise up without help. Apparently it has to do with my inner ear. Today I'm hearing bells in my ears. Its all so annoying. Meds make me loopy and sleepy. I don't like this.

Hope you get some answers. I know some people in my family suffer from Vestibular Migraines- don't feel like headaches, but rather vertigo. Diet helps. I don't know specifics, but I know you can research diets for this condition. It may also be related to an auto-immune condition. Best of luck!

Hopefully they gave you some meclizine, right??
I get it every now and again, and believe it or not, the most helpful thing to me is to hydrate myself. Not sure why it works (because I'm not dehydrated) - but it does.
    Hope you feel better soon

They told me to drink twice has much when i get it. Something to do with the water balance in your body.

I hope you get over it quick and feel better. I know some people come into the ER with it and almost slam themselves into the floor. I hope you get some meclizine. Take care!

i had that last year and was basically bed-bound for 2 weeks until my sister in law, who's a speech pathologist, told me to get my hiney into the ENT's office as it's definitely an inner ear thing. something about the crystals in the fluid in the inner ear and how when they get outside of that fluid it affects your balance. so i made the appointment and about 2-3 days after that i went back for a physical therapy appointment........strangest thing i've ever experienced. lots of swinging your head around in a methodical way to get the crystals back in place. had to wear a collar around my neck for the rest of the day and overnight and the next morning i was totally back to normal. was incredible!

here's some info i found on the physical therapy i had......[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epley_maneuver"]Epley maneuver - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

if you haven't already seen an ENT (ear nose & throat specialist) i'd HIGHLY recommend it! my regular family physician was pretty much useless with this.

So sorry. I hope you fel better fast! I have had it and it sucks!..Went to the ER and they gave me a prescription called antivert. It worked..The doctors told me that sometimes you get random spells of it..I had been taking water aerobics and getting alot of water in my ears, I believe that was the culprit!!

Thank you all. You've given me info I didn't get...drinking more water to hydrate and seeing an ent doctor. I'm seeing my regular doctor in the next couple of days. I feel better today but still don't feel right...if that makes sense. I think mine was caused by ongoing sinus infections. This is the first time I've ever had it. The first few days just rolling over sent me into a spin. I could not walk at all without help. I feel like I'm being pulled backwards. Today my left ear is hurting. I keep hearing bells ringing.

...the doctor gave me Meclizine and Hydroxyzine.
