Darn you and your rational, level headed responses, Imagine! I'm finding it very difficult to panic with your persistent interference in my overdramatization.

If I were in the market to buy stocks, I'd do it now. But I think the market is going to tumble a bit more before it steadies itself.

My take on the economy is that we need to get gas prices under control. Then we'll see more consumer dollars going towards goods, towards food, shipping and commerce will become more affordable, people will travel more, and employment numbers will rise.

I hear that and second the motion as gas prices eventually spur almost everything else up in price as well.

The stock market tanked in 2001 after September 11th, too - yet somehow the world didn't devolve into mass riots with people stockpiling guns and foods and a total zombie apocalypse.

Is it bad? Yes. Is it going to get worse? Oh yes. But I'm not ready to go into my underground bunker just yet. I'm still investing in the market (my 401K and Roth). There's something to be said for being informed, but also keeping a level head.
