    Default Looking for ideas...

....I took this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off from work to take a Yoga workshop. I was just informed it was canceled. So now I have three "free" days.

So I'm looking for suggestions of what to do. I'm trying not to spend gobs of money. Most of my friends and family are still working. My DH is working.

So my question to you - what would you do if you had 3 totally free days?

Try and see if you can find any free festivals that might be going on. If you like the outdoors how about going to a park, hike, or ocean.

I would also forget about the clock and take it easy. Wake up when you want to.

I would take a day to lie in bed and read. I might use another day to browse (not buy) at shops or bookstores I never get to go to. I might buy myself lunch. The third day I would probably hike or swim or find a new yoga class.

~Day one: I'd go somewhere beautiful and take a lot of reading material and a picnic for one. Bicycling to that spot would be icing on the cake.
Day 2: Get up and watch the sunrise. Invite a friend over for a marathon board game day.
Day 3: Go to a bunch of little boutiques and junk shops that I never seem to have time for. Make a written list of gift ideas for upcoming occasions including a list of things I'd like to have. Then go to a real coffee shop for a decadent treat and then for a pedicure.
Hope you enjoy your vacation! ~

I guess I'll be the party pooper... Aside from taking time to catch up on needed sleep, I'd look around my home and jot down a few 'projects' that have needed to be taken care of, but I haven't had time and I'd 'attack' them. I always feel so much better when those pesky 'to do's' are DONE.

Pajamas, dogs, snuggly sofa. Yes, all three days. Come to think of it, I have had the entire summer off and I don't regret a single one of the pajama days.

Firstly - I'd sleep in, lounge around in PJ's uninterrupted for as long as I want and watch tv/movies. Chores can wait til evening when you'd normally do them after work (if applicable). Basically - do whatever tickles your fancy since this is YOUR time off. Perhaps go to a 'drop in' yoga class or do some yoga at home?

I would probably do a mix - one or two things around the apartment (maybe), but I would use it mostly for downtime. But then, I would be excited the class had been cancelled because for me nothing is better than free time at home. I would read, crochet, maybe work a jigsaw puzzle.

I would do a project that has been bugging you. Reorganize the pantry, rearrange the living room. Something that will remind me of the day off and what I got accomplished.

If the weather is nice I'd take a book to the park and read. If the weather is icky, I'd read at home. Either way, reading would definitely be on my list!

Is there a massage school nearby? You might be able to get a massage at a discount, that sure sounds nice. Or you could do a mani/pedi at home, that would be a nice pick-me-up that would be affordable. Since your original plan had been to do yoga, do any fitness centers near you accept drop-ins for classes? Maybe your library would have yoga dvd's you could check out?

How about make a lunch date with your dh? Have a spa day at home. Browse your library and then lay in the sun and read. Have fun!
