Thread: local channels without cable?

Thanks for posting this! We'd given up cable/satellite a year ago for netflix and hulu, but sometimes missed being able to catch the local news. Found rabbit ears @ Wal-Mart for less than $10 (hubby's discount made them $9) and now we've got about 12 channels in HD for free!!

I would definately try the whole rabbit ears or digital antennae before cancelling. I hooked up my digital box and antennae to my analog tv and could get one channel. It was really fuzzy everything else was snow. Turns out that it also depends on what you might be living near on wether you will get good reception. I have high wire power lines near me so I am sure that affects it.

Once you get your antenna, go to AntennaWeb.org, and figure out the best direction to face for maximum channels.

We recently dumped Direct TV and purchased a digital antennae - LOVe it! Saving at least $140 month! Plus, we discovered we enjoy PBS channels more!
