Long term goals vs short term goals
How far out do you set goals? Do you write them down somewhere and look at them every so often? Just curious how others handle goals.....
I am a list maker. Hubby doesnt write anything down. I usually check my list a couple times per year, then usually in January I write down new goals and cross off accomplishments. I usually have goals set for three years.Dawn

I have lists for short term goals - ie things that need to get done etc.
The long term goals - generally stay on my brain. I may not think about them daily but I do call upon them so I can stay focused and on track.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

~I'm a seasonal goal person. I usually get organized and evaluate near the end of every season to get back on track for the new season.
If I think I'm going to have trouble keeping the goal, I write it down. Things that are habits but still goals I can just keep in my head.
I have to write down a lot of stuff these days. I'm stretched thinner and much more distracted. Real paper lists are very helpful!~~Constance

I go by what I want to deal with.
Right now my shortest goal is to have the camper paid off by the new year. I will probably have to make a payment in January but I can deal with it.
Not sure what my next one is yet.....I like to pace myself or I can just stress the fool out of myself and what good does that do me?
Oh wait--$3800 for new hearing aids is my next one...sheesh!The math never lies, budget in INK!

Greebo and I don't always list them but we do discuss them. We have fiscal goals for what we want to accomplish and household goals for 1-2 years. We have long term goals (5-10 years) that are not written but are brought up often enough that we can use them help us make the right choices in the present.
I have seasonal goals and daily goals as well. Sometimes it just as simple as empty the dishwasher. lolThe Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

My goal right now is pizza.
Mmmmm, pizza! If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
