Prescription drug savings suggestions

Does anyone have ideas to share? Generics always, of course

One I can share is this.... If you take any pill that is in a form that can be split, ask your doc to prescribe pills in a double dose then you can split them. My dh takes .25 mg of med "x" daily but our dr prescribes .50 mg for him. This means a one month supply AND COPAYMENT! Lasts two months

Any other ideas?

Our previous ins co allowed us a 90 day supply for a single copayment but the new company won't. PITA too having to refill every 30 days. (rat finks!)

You can often get a 90 day supply cheaper if you mail order. Ask your ins company about that. I have one med that is $175 a month, or $80 for a 90 day supply by mail.

Generics are not always the same. The active ingredient is, but they don't always work the same. I have two that I have to get the brand name of, I can tell the generics don't work as well.

Other than asking the doctor for samples the only other tip I have is to go Canadian. Mail order meds from Canada are half the price of buying in the US when you have no ins.
