    Default Nice score today

I've been thinking about a second camera to use for my job. We have an inexpensive one we bought a couple years ago that we really like. It does fine for my needs, but we've wanted another one so we can each have one when we're traveling, plus a back-up for work.

At any rate, I was in a store today and ran across a whole rack of cameras on a clearance sale. Amazingly enough, they were all half price. So I selected one that was marked down to $50 and felt really happy about that. It's identical to the one we have but with higher resolution, so I'm hoping it'll work well for the close-up shots I take. I love it that I don't have to learn a new camera, since the new one has all the same settings and everything. I also made sure it uses standard batteries. It's proven to be a life-saver more than once when the rechargeable batts died out in the back left corner of nowhere, and we can just pull regular batts out of a flashlight or something and use them in the camera. Perfect.

I was shopping with my mom and got distracted at the checkout, so wasn't paying attention to the total for my own order. When I got home, I found out the clerk had given me the weekly Thursday senior discount (I feel so old now) so I got an additional 10% off the whole order, including the camera. So it actually cost me only $45 plus tax. YEA!

I also picked up five packages of Monkey Hooks, all they had, on clearance for seventy cents a package. I love those and they're normally $3.50/pkg.

So it turned out to be an excellent day shopping, even though I hadn't planned to spend anything.

Nice finds! ...and hey a discount is a discount! Money in your pocket.

...btw I love monkey hooks. They are great for pictures and things like that. I found out my shelves don't do so well on them though. LOL...the hard way.

I doubled up a couple of Monkey Hooks and hung an oversized cast iron skillet on them. It's worked great for several years now.

    Sorry about your shelves!

Yes, I think it was! I'm rarely in town during the week, so I guess it was meant to be.

I dug up a bag today that'll work for both cameras and the teeny tiny tripod I bought for fifty cents recently, plus spare batteries and cards. Both cameras in their individual bags will fit into it nicely, so I don't have to spend anything on another bag. So that was lucky, too.
