Oh yeah! While we were reorganizing the garage, I found some cornmeal and some powdered milk in one of the gamma buckets! It isn't enough, but I am not totally out like I thought I was.

The PYO apple orchard just opened up this week. I may go and pick apples, DH loves sweet cider. We sell it at work, but i can probably make it cheaper than I can get it, even with an employee discount. Also, I'll make apple butter (people say my apple butter is apple sauce since I don't use sugar or spices in it) and maybe freeze some apples for soups. I'm not fond of cooked sweet apples much, so no pie filling, etc.
I've gotten our year's sugar order already, need to order milk. I'm considering placing an order for whole wheat too.

The stockpile is an ongoing work in progress here. Of course I never know when our DS is going to use mom and dad's house as a grocery store :/

Purchased some extra bay leaves. I like to put some leaves on my stockpiling shelves to help with keeping bugs away.

We went apple picking yesterday! When I get the time in the next week or so...I will be making a huge batch of applesauce and hopefully canning it. Would also like to try my hand at apple butter, I love it and have never made it before. If it turns out well, I will make a big batch and can that too!

Started getting firewood on the yard. We stay stocked on ALOT, so mostly ok.
Right now in alot of stores they have their solar lights on sale...stock up on these. They make good little light, easy for carrying at night through the house, after charging outside all day and they cost nothing to run. Just the expense in buying them. If you buy the spotlight type and dont need alot of light in a room, they make good room lights.Housework can't kill you, but why take a chance?

I have 30 yes 30 bags at 2 cups per bag of grated zucchini frozen. Now what do I do with it? I made zucchini bread last year and had tons left so wanted to freeze it to use this year and when I thaw it, it's just watery mush. Do I drain it and use the mush or use it all water and all? And if I drain it then I obviously no longer have 2 cups left so need to at least thaw 2 bags per batch of bread?
Sorry got off topic but just wondered.
I did add 20 cans of chicken soup, 20 kidney beans, 6 tomato juice, and 20 black beans to my winter stockpile though
