I feel sorry for them too...they're kind of pathetic the way they end up as road kill so much! I think the moms with the babies hanging on their backs are kind of cute in an ugly kind of way...lol!

Oh, yeah, forgot something...my parents' former doxie that lived about 17 or 18 years killed them and once she killed one and my Dad said it had about five hundred bite marks in it. LOL!

About 5 years ago I had one that died under my house. I didn't know until it started to smell. OMG. My son called someone to come get it. It was gross.

Last Spring I went onto my back deck to feed my cat. When I reached down to give her a pet, it was a possum. Scared the **** outta me.

I always thought the babies were so cute. I have walked right past them and have seen stray cats eating right next to them. I haven't done anything to make them mad and wouldn't want to with those teeth.

Well you learn a new thing every day, I thought possums were Australian, kinda like our koalas and kangaroos! Never heard them mentioned before anywhere else!

We have one that comes around all the time. We call him Handsome Stranger since he only sneaks in at night. He's harmless.

LOL now I'm thinking about the commercial where the lady goes out to get her kitty and lets a raccoon in her house instead.

We had o'possums coming on our deck to eat cat food. Now we bring the dish in around dark. I don't mind feeding the stray cats (we have two), but I don't want to lure anything else up to my house.

    Unhappy

We never had possum problems it was always ground hogs from our neighbors overgrown yard. They were huge, they came and munched on our garden DSDad had every year.

I had one to run out in front of my car. It was huge. It almost flipped me over.

I've never seen a real live possum. But I *have* tried to spin their hair! Very short and very big pain to spin. But quite soft...
