My friends don't have to post for me to see what their doing. I get updates when they play games, visit other facebook pages, etc. it even tells me the time they were doing what they were doing. Seriously makes me feel like I'm invading someone's privacy and I can't find anyway to undo it.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Talking about news feed posts here, not wall posts, although that has "security" too.
Posts made on your own news feed have a security setting. Your account has an overall security setting. If I go to your account page and I cannot see a comment you have made, and I cannot see your wall, then Russ, who can see your wall, posts on your wall, or comments on your own post, I still should not be able to see what you wrote. If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Unless they recant on their previous statements, which is always a possibility, no. I think they realize that is a big draw to facebook, and removing that anonymity would cause a lot of people to bail. I don't know of anyone who hasn't done a little facestalking.
On the other hand, "anonymity" and "facebook" aren't exactly synonyms, so who knows what they will implement.

I've been trying out Google+ since this thread started and really liking it so far. No ads, uncluttered, simple to use. Love the circle idea.

According to our local Fox channel, on Wednesday, Facebook is launching another major change to its website. Be prepared, it's coming.

Okay, I have actually gone the Developer route and created my new FB profile page that everyone has been talking about before it is available to the general public. First of all, I actually kind of like it. It does have the Timeline, but all it does is show status updates, photos, etc. that you have posted to your profile throughout the time you've been on FB. It doesn't show posts you've made on others profiles or anything like that. You can also "hide" items and posts from your timeline. Yes, it's a new format. Yes, it does take some getting used to as all changes do, but it's basically just more "bloglike".
As far as seeing others responses to their friends' posts, as someone pointed out, it's always been there for everyone to see, but now I think it's more noticeable because it's on a running ticker in a column to the right of the page. You can actually hide the running dialogue by going to the bottom right hand corner of the box and clicking the little arrow. If you'd prefer others not see what you've written on someone's wall or a particular status update, there is a dropdown box to the bottom of the status box that allows you to choose who sees your post. I don't think this was available before and actually allows a little more privacy, in my opinion.
There's always going to be advantages and disadvantages with change, but as someone pointed out, it is a free social networking site. If I only wanted to network with family, then I'd only "friend" my family. (Nuisance, I don't think you should feel at all guilty about that.) If I don't want certain people to see what I have to say, why then I'd just be sure to use the drop down feature to choose that option or private message. And, as always, because it's the internet, I always think first before I put anything out there that I know all my friends can see.~ Michelle
