Holy smokes pumpkin!
I had ordered a few cases of organic pumpkin months back. It was around $12 shipped for 12 cans. A friend needed some and was going to order and I told her if she didnt want a whole order she could just buy 6 out of my opened case. So I sold her 6 for $6. I have 1 unoped case of 12 cans left.
I went to reorder and that 12 cans of pumpkin is now $34!!! That is a big increase from $12! I went to also order coconut oil. That went up $5! OUCH! I bought 3 big cans of pumpkin at Walmart for a tad under $4 a can. I should have grown pie pumpkins this year!

You may want to wait a bit, for some reason I am thinking you may have got last years crop pricing (and last year you got the year before). I know that last year was really bad for pumpkins. It may go down over the next few weeks as the new crops come in.

I hope so. I just refuse to buy more at that price! I'll be very sad as I eat pumpkin almost daily.

Can you find a good farmers market and get an heirloom pumpkins , and do yourself? Wish you lived close by I have the chance of get a pallet of pumpkins on Friday not sure if I will or not as I have so many pumpkins here to process yet. I grew some pie pumpkins and got some good ones, but my favorites are Cinderellas for pies, only got two . So bought some. Have them roasting now. You should see my neighboorhood when I drive home with an SUV and trailer full of produce on top of what I grow to process in the summer. ....hehe

The local grocery store has fresh show & sugar pumpkins for .29/pound...the problem is... they look horrid! I wouldn't want to show it on my front porch, let alone my fork!
I am a BIG TIME pumpkin lover - if I find any online deals, I will let you know.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

There is a shortage of pumpkins this year due to the rain on the east coast. I've seen wildly divergent pricing on fresh pumpkins, from $3 to $5 each.... though last year I paid nearly 10 each for the jack o lanterns I bought.

We grew them last year and it must have been the variety but they were not good. I'd love too see that! LOL I'll have to ask the Amish neighbor if she knows where to buy good ones.
They had pie pumpkins in our stores .99 a lb but badly beaten up. Oh please do share if you find a deal and I will do the same! Whatever will I do without a pumpkin smoothie a day?
Darn darn darn!

Canned pumpkin was $2.00/can yesterday. I grew some but we use quite a bit as it's a favorite here. I'm hoping Aldis will come through for me.

I heard that the hurricane wiped out most of the east coast pumpkin crop that's why it's so costly. I was just over a neighbors home and he had volunteer pumpkins growing in his front flowerbed! One year when my oldest was a baby my dh grew pumpkins and they came out so cute we took pics with my oldest sitting on a hay bale with the pumpkins sooooo cute!

Saw some small pie pumpkins on sale at the grocery store. They were 2/$5. Pumpkins are supposed to be more expensive this year because of the rain and bad crops.
Was really looking forward to purchasing some cans of pumpkin for the stockpile. Will keep an eye out for any sale but will not be stockpiling a large amount.

I bought 3 pie pumpkins last week at our local farmer's market.
They were 75 cents each.
From them, I got enough pumpkin to freeze for about 6 pies.
After reading these posts, I think I got a really good deal!
I made one pie, and it was delicious.Too Blessed to be Stressed.
