Gah! This completely ruins my plan to develop a peanut butter powered car. No one is going to want to by my peanut-mobile if peanut butter prices go up.

I make my own peanut butter in the blender. But it probably doesn't matter since peanuts alone will probably be going up.

Gaaaah! At the local store here, I buy the 40oz PeterPan PB...it had jumped from 4.48 to 4.92 in just 2 weeks time. That was a few months back....now it's going up again. We go through 4-5 jars a month.

Sure am glad we stuffed those 24 jars of close-out, 99 cent peanut butter in the freezer a few weeks ago.

Once it's thawed, you'd never know it was frozen.

Yup, just shove it in the freezer right in the jar, as it comes from the store. It freezes beautifully and will keep indefinitely in there.
I don't know if you can still buy peanut butter in glass jars, therefore I don't know if it would expand and break a glass jar. The plastic jars freeze just fine.
If we need some and it's frozen, we take the lid off and the inner seal off and nuke it for about a minute or so. Don't try to heat it, just soften it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
