Default I'm soooooooooooooooooo excited! Long story.. ..

We bought our home 3yrs ago an used all of our money to do the repairing/ remodeling..anyway we desperately needed a new front door & a new storm door as they are NOT energy effient at all and they are as old as the house built in 1964..you can feel the cold air coming through the door but we didn't have the extra funds to purchase what I wanted..well my unemployment was approved so we are using that money to do ALL of our upgrades to make our homes more energy effient and some other household items needed..so I just ordered the front door & storm door spent almost 2hours on the phone with Lowes getting all the info and getting exactly what I wanted and asking questions about other things..because their computer was so slow the guy decided to give me FREE SHIPPING a $75.00 savings right there! My storm door is a special order because I wanted it a hunter green color and my door is a mohogany color that's in stock and will be delivered October 19th...We also need to buy insulation but I need to wait until my next deposit which is in 2 day's if the total is over $550.00..so I ask the guy since my order won't be delivered for over 2 week's can I add the insulation to the order next week to get the free shipping all in one shot and he said no problem! I found the insulation on sale for $6.00 less per bundle which equal's quite a bit of money saved to buy the Dyson vacuum I want to buy.. I'm real happy knowing that I got exactly what I wanted..both door's are absolutely beautiful..energy effient..the storm door is a all glass w/ a retractable screen,unbreakable/security glass w/a security deadbolt lock with money that I didn't think I would get and not having to touch anything from our saving's that we have been building back up for along time now..with the rest of my unemployment money we want to buy new basement windows,a woodstove for the livingroom..thanks for letting me share my excitement!

Hope they all save you lots of money in energy costs. Hope too that you get to start adding more to your savings soon and find a job that makes your heart sing.

Brenda, that is fantastic. What great deals, your house will be warmer and more efficient as well. Hope you find an even better job, or find a blessing that you don't need one for now. Hugs to you and yours

I just read my post and wanted to say that it sound's like I'm bragging..please don't take my post that way...I truly didn't think that we would be able to do any upgrades to our home for a long time. I was totally shocked that my unemployment went through for reason's I don't want to go into right now..anyway when I found out l was approved and recieved the card and there was 2 month's worth of unemployment on it..I told my dh since we didn't expect it we should use it on some upgrades that we will benefit from for many many years...I do not want any of this money used on anything else..I have a list written out I actually wrote out the list a couple of weeks ago hoping that the unemplyment would go through for what we need and some household item's that I need or would last long term like the Dyson vacuum will last me many year's..the one I have now is 6yrs old ($600.00 reg price paid $150.00 as it was a floor model) still run's but sound's like the motor is gonna go soon..so that is not a need just yet but if everything else is bought that is priority I will buy that last...I'm so happy knowing that this money will be used to improve our home..

I don't think it sounds like you were bragging at all. Sounds like you had a wonderful blessing that you are using wisely . What an unexpected but wonderful way to get the things you have needed for awhile. You are such a financial savvy woman and I love reading your posts , way of thinking and keeping your family on track in these times. Hugs to you and yours.

    KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS

New replacement doors, insulation, etc. are often eligible for tax credits as new energy saving improvements.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
