Default Do you shop at Amazon for groceries?

We have been talking a lot lately about the rising cost of food. I have started buying food on Amazon some. I just ordered peanut butter (hoping to stock up before the price hike they are forecasting), but have also ordered sugar, syrup, cereal, mac & cheese, etc for cheaper than I can get at the grocery store.

You have to watch the prices, as they do change but Amazon has deals each week just like the grocery stores. You have to buy in bulk, but the per item price will frequently be cheaper than locally. You can get the best deals by choosing the Subscribe & Save option - which lowers your price by 15% AND gives you free shipping. You can cancel the subscribe & save at any time.

Just thought I would throw this out there for an alternative to shopping at the grocery store. Plus it is delivered right to your door.

I have ordered some grocery items from amazon. Most recently, four cases of Yakisoba noodles. They had flavors not available in my grocery stores and the price was lower.

I have ordered some grocery items. Just bought a case of Clif Z bars. They were cheaper than what I can get in the store. And the convenience is awesome

I buy from amazon all the time, mostly gluten free stuff like brown rice flour and crackers. We get free two day shipping with amazon student, and I think I can get another year of free shipping with amazon mom.

I've ordered a few things there. But Amazon doesn't ship out many of their grocery items to military overseas I would get more if they did.

I get the British teas we like (even cheaper than getting them at the British shoppette), some Bobs Red Mill items and some of the boys snacks.

~I've used it for specialty ingredients like organic vanilla beans but I hadn't thought of it for something like peanut butter.
Apparently you can subscribe to a food shipment and get a lower price. I checked PB. $14 for 6 jars, shipped, but only $12 shipped when you subscribe to regular shipments.
That's a good deal! That PB brand is $.20 higher at WM and $1 higher at the grocery.
I'm going to look into this more. Thanks!~

I like to buy Starbucks coffee there. Our favorite flavor is no longer in stores, but is available through Amazon.

YES! I regularly check the prices of things on Amazon versus the grocery store. Not everything is a deal. BUT when I find one, I buy it.

Those of you that shop there should check these out if you haven't already. One is just for students, one is for moms. They're both free and they both provide free 2 day shipping. It's saved us a ton.

In order to use amazon student, you have to have a student email address, one that ends in .edu I think.

Only K-cups for the Keurig coffee maker (a Christmas gift). They have them at less per cup than most places.

Valerian - that was how I ended up buying mac & cheese. Around here they have quit selling just the regular Annie's mac & cheese (the shape of the kraft version - which is the only shape my son will eat) and after searching for months I found a deal on Amazon. I got them for $1.42 a box - a tad bit higher than the best sale around here, but since I could never find it here it was worth it.

I love Amazon grocery!! I've ordered pure maple syrup, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, farro, peanut butter, almond butter, coconut oil, Nature's Path cereal and more for the same or less than I can buy it retail. Subscribe and save is fabulous (you can always cancel) and you get the lowest price!! I find lots of unusual food items that I can't always find at my local natural foods store and the convenience is great!!
