    Thank you

Went to the house yesterday to do some work and that meant stopping at our Post Office to pick up the mail. Jack and I would like to thank you for being so kind and generous, reaching out to help us the way you are means so very much. You blew us away and yes, I cried. I've got the cards and notes on a table where we can see them & when things get tough I just look over at that table & know we aren't alone. I will be very frugal with what you have so kindly given to us and spend it wisely when we move on to our next home.
Thank you, thank you, a thousand thank you's.

I'm going to bump this back up so everyone gets a chance to see it. Thanks for keeping us updated, Darlene. I'm so glad that the villagers have been able to lift your mood.

Got another card yesterday, thank you very much.
We've been busy at the house grabbing mud covered stuff, taking it home and bringing it to the lake to wash off and see what we uncover. It's not much fun but we are trying to save everything we can. Today had me washing lightbulbs, bottles of cleaners, rusted tools, rope. Some stuff was in the cellar in boxes on narrow shelves and didn't get pulled out when it flooded, so washing lightbulbs and things picked off the floor continues. All we own could fit in a small uhaul trailer but I'm saving everything there is to save. So weird the whole thing, I try to stay upbeat but believe me this really sucks big-time sometimes.

Thanks, you don't know how much I wish you could. It's just all so emotional. You drive there and it looks like a war zone, you walk in & it smells and is cold and I used to live there, it used to be nice. The main floor is empty and mostly guttted but we are still in the basement hauling mud & whatever we find. Then haul it back here (hour drive) to de-mud it in the lake and line it up on tarps to dry and then get oiled or whatever to make it work again and meanwhile you are hoping with all you've got that someone buys the house so you can just get on with things. Sorry I'm whining & I can't stand whiners, lol. Ugh.

That's not really whining; just explaining and venting, and every human being is allowed to do that.

Darlene, Even if it IS whining, we all get the right to do that now and then. That doesn't make you a whiner, it makes you human. If you don't move on, and keep whining...THEN you're a whiner.

    But you're entitled lady!

Again, I repeat my offer. If when you go though stuff there's a few books that you really will miss, let me know. if I've got 'em in the store stock, I'll mail them along.

Darlene you are not whining at all and even if you were you sure deserve too. I can't even imagine. I thought it was a disaster when we had our small basement and crawl space fill up full. If I thought that was a lot of mud I can hardly imagine what you are going through. I know I did a lot of whining about that basement.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Nope not whining. I'm impressed with how you are holding up. Sending more prayers your way.

Better day today! It's raining and that lets us get some indoor stuff done. Hubby steel wooled all the cast iron and we have yet to season it, looks like today is the day. He was going to do it a few days back but the day got away from him. I'm going to organize all the pics I gathered from the old house, brought them here & just put them all in a bedroom and now need to make a neater pile.
Just a putter day, I can dig it.
