Hello there
Hi all. Thought I'd post an intro, as I'll be haunting the boards and bugging you all.
Actually I used to be a member here some years ago. Learned so much from so many wonderful people so I am back.
Anyway so in '05 I got really into the whole paying off debt/saving money thing. BIG TIME. And did spectacular at it. $56k paid off in 18 months. (bows) Actually had a blast doing it. Well we had an opportunity to sell the home and with proceeds pay for an older home when we moved to a new state. Debt free and paid for mortgage. Life was good. Being frugal was a blast for me, but then felt like I could relax a bit. I know I know....
Fast forward 4 years: As of now, my husband is hopefully cancer free. (knock on wood, we will find out this next week if his PET scan is clear, then he is). Yeah sometimes life happens. Or kicks you in the teeth. So hello medical bills. Thank GOD for insurance!! But still co-pays and $20k out of pocket limit per year (we've been battling his cancer for almost 15 months now) adds up. I took on a small car loan which we will have gone in 5 months. So as of now we're looking at paying off $26k. Not too terrible. But... yeah I wanted a different house. It's BEAUTIFUL. So hello mortgage again.
Well anyways, an opportunity may open up for us to move to another state which will increase our income, actually dh would make more than our combined income together. If that happens he wants me to not work and get back into the money thing. H loved it. (I think he just loved me having a home cooked meal for him when he came home every night. But shhhh... don't tell him I said that). But already my mind set is headed that way even if we don't wind up moving.
So this is me saying
