Thread: Would you pay $140 for this?

That is a great deal for my area. Especially where ground chicken is never cheaper than $5.99 lb., so that alone would cost me $12.00. If it is a good deal in your area and you are short on shopping time, then I would say to go for it.

I just put cranberries into a small sauce pan with a little bit of water and start them simmering. Maybe 2 cups berries (pick through them and remove soft or nasty looking ones) and half a cup of water. Once the berries have started to soften and pop, give them a stir and start adding sugar to taste, start with half a cup. Add a little more water if you need to. I just cook it until it is all soft and has thickened up a bit. Maybe 15 minutes?Taste it now and then and add sugar. You can also put in a little orange juice, or a dash of cinnamon.
When it cools it will set up, not quite as thick as canned stuff, but nice enough for serving.
If that's not enough of a recipe for you, you can search "home made cranberry sauce" and find lots of more accurate recipes.

From a Canadian perspective it is a VERY good deal.
We'd be paying $30-40 for one turkey alone...not on sale. On sale we'd be paying $15-20...and it would be missing a limb. That would be utility grade. Yeah, well, go by your American cohorts there. Your prices are probably more comparable.

Thats my take on it - its already packaged up so its a quick pop in to pick up and you're back out the door. No walking around hunting for these items AND no impulse buys temptation.
Totally agree - when I saw all the meat in the list - to me that was about $100 give or take $20 depending on where you live in Canada. This is a bargain but only if you will eat/use everything and have the room to store it.2012: The Year Of The Purge!
