    Default A Vent about Sears!

My hubby is very hard to shop for and I finally found a good Christmas gift (an early one).

Well, I go online to the Sears site and order him a tool chest, it got to our store last week and when we got home we took it out of the box, it was damaged, back to the store we go. They ordered us a new one that could be picked up today, so to the store we go again. Hubby decided to take it out of the box there and this one was even more damaged than the last one, I was REFUND!

The store clerk informed us that a high percent of their shipment comes damaged. I informed her (nicely cos' it isn't her fault) this is the last time I will be buying anything from Sears.

The boxes weren't damaged at all, were in very good condition, so we are all wondering if they weren't packed already damaged.

Hubbys Christmas gift will now be held off till tax time..

    Vent done!!

Sorry about that. When you try again I've heard good things about Waterloo tool boxes.

A couple of years ago my sister was going to buy her husband an air compressor for Christmas at Sears.A sales girl told her they are so much % off tomorrow. She went back the next day they had raised them then took off the %.They were higher than the day before. She went to Lowes and got the same horsepower for alot cheaper than the first price at Sears.

that is awful. I won't put up with stuff like if I pay for new it better be undamaged. I don't blame you for not shopping there. I don't like sears at all and only shop a Kmart because of layaway. If wally had layaway all year long for all items. Would shop there more.

Well, their tools might be, but their tool chests aren't apparently that strong.

all of there stuff is usually uber good i would have demanded the clerk go get on from the back to see if it too was damaged. if it wasn't i would have taken it --even if it was, i would have taken it and called up craftsman and explained the issue to them

Wow! I have bought several of the Sears tool chests for my husband (building up a nice set) and they've all come in perfect condition. You must just have had a streak of bad luck.

The clerk wasn't surprised last week or today. She said it happens often there.

~Oh I hate it when you find damaged items in an undamaged box. Do they really think you're going to walk away happily with junk? Makes me think there's some kind of secret factory bonus for "recycling" the bad units until they don't come back.
Have you checked local ads for a used one? At least you'll be able to see what you're getting before you hand any money over. And it would be cheaper too.~

I'm sorry to hear that Syn. Dh works in the shipping business. I hate to say it but tons of freight gets damaged before it is ever loaded in the trucks.

Not that I know of. I ordered it on the Sears online site and it was delivered to our local Sears store.
