Should know and do know are totally different things.

I think lots for people old enough to carry a gun license and be out after 1:30 do not know the monetary damage. The cost of the cow in and of them self let alone the income that would have been derived from cow's milk and the revenue potential of the calf she was carrying.

I do not think many would know the huge dollar figure attached. Hubby did ranch and cattle lending and had to value Ranchers property (cattle is considered property) and earning potential. It is amazing the value. There is a reason local ranchers will bring a newborn calf in out of the freezing cold and baby their cattle and it isn't just the love of their animals.

You're probably right imagine. they probably have no idea. They also probably have no idea what it's like to love an animal and have it so cruelly slaughtered in her field where she's only known safety and love. People who see so little value in life, any life should be stripped of their gun owning rights. We have very little laws protecting animals from such cruelty, but I'm hoping that the laws they broke against these farmers will carry a decent jail sentence and proper compensation. But no matter what punishment, it will not bring back Happy and her calf, and it will not restore the sense of safety and well being for these farmers that they once had. Whoever did this is not fit to walk in our community IMHO.

I feel badly for the farmer. This has got to be a serious blow to him/her as a small dairy farmer. I do hope they find who did this and prosecute them as far as they can. No one wants neighbors like that!

they don't care about the value or the personal loss. why would they? they were having "fun". if they had any feelings of caring they wouldn't be involved in this. they are sick people with no concious. ( i know i spelled that wrong.) just sayin'
